I’m mostly fine, but every now and again a game comes along that throws me. Can you try sitting further back from the screen, adjusting lighting in your room (perhaps it's too dark?) and making the experience a bit less intense?

I don't think frame rate is the explanation as if that were so would have associated it with historical console multiplayer sessions when frame rates dropped but wasn't my experience and probably started encountering it more initially on PC and then on modern consoles.Īre you sitting closer to a larger screen than you used to, giving yourself a narrower and more intense field of view? I don't think ageing is to blame unless you've developed vertigo and gaming triggers it. Would like to be able to address it as do miss this genre of game.
Is this something for me to chalk up simply alongside other aspects of aging or is it to do with the higher frame rates used now (though have read some commentary suggesting low frame rates are to blame) or the fact the games are much more fast moving with lots of rapid turns and changes of the viewpoint? I do recall the odd occasion of queeziness after a very long session on Jaguar Doom or AVP but on modern consoles and PC games I avoid games that use the first person perspective as find nausea arising fairly swiftly in them. I played fps games extensively on my N64 and GameCube without ever encountering significant motion sickness in spite regular mammoth play sessions.
Changing the max\_item\_mass, the max\_walk\_weight and the max\_weight lines will make your character jump higher, not a lot higher but at some point, say above 1000, your Stalker will make jumps very high that will result in instant death, there's a line that affects the landing damage and if tweaked correctly you can jump from area to area but I don't know which line it is, sorry, if people start asking for it, I'll try adding that to my tutorial.Couldn't find a thread that focussed on this specific issue (some looking at frame rates more generally) but all the Quake love is making me feel left out because I find nausea a not too distant playmate in modern gaming. The max\_walk\_weight line defines the ultimate limit for carrying weight, that's the maximum carrying weight at which your character will be unable to move any further unless you drop some items. The max\_item\_mass and max\_weight lines affect the carrying weight at which your character will start to become affected by the weight of your items, your character will start moving slower, your jumps will be smaller, your fatigue will increase much faster while running and you'll even be fatigued by walking normally. Now there's some important information that you must know about changing the carrying weight limit. Voila! Your maximum carrying limit for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. When your done with those steps look for the line named max\_walk\_weight in the actor.ltx file by opening it with notepad and change it's value to something higher then the one you picked for max\_item\_mass and max\_weight, let's say 170. Now go look for the line called max\_item\_mass in the actor.ltx file, located in config/creatures, by opening it with notepad, change the max\_item\_mass to the same number has for max\_weight, it would be 150 this time. First look for the line called max\_weight in the system.ltx file by opening it with notepad, it should be set to 50, we'll be changing it to the desired number, let's say 150. After installing the files correctly we can finnaly start to change the weight. 
Shadow of Chernobyl/Gamedata/ and for Steam users it should be located in C:Program files/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Stalker shadow of Chernobyl/gamedata directory which for retail buyers should be located in C:/Program files/THQ/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
